Alone in the City ... Turns 10 !

In 2009 I released a collection of prints in my Etsy shop titled 'Alone in the City' based on my experiences living alone in a big city (LONDON).  The prints were created by splicing together photographs I had taken 10 years earlier with people I had drawn on the computer.

Since my travel days were just before digital photography I took most of my photographs with disposable film cameras which showed a grainy resolution when enlarged.  The people in the pieces were drawn using AutoCAD software which, at the time, was beginning to replace hand drawings in Architecture and Engineering (the professions I was working in).  AutoCAD was the new and more efficient alternative to drafting by hand and it's renderings created a hollow and lonely feeling, perfect for the collages.
